CNN presents: Hookers & Blow, a New Years Eve Special

If anyone stayed home this year like me and managed to tune in to the supposedly reputable cable news organization (CNN) on Dec 31st, they were treated to an all-out New Years Eve crack fest. Starring a tipsy Anderson Cooper (AC) nervously laughing uncontrollably through the entire broadcast due to Kathy Griffins unpredictable big mouth. Kathy managed to get through a live telecast by dropping F-Bomb's and doing jokes about snorting cocaine.
Follow up:
While all extremely entertaining, I had to check the guide on my TV to see if this was really CNN I was watching or if this was being filmed live at the Apollo. I even checked the other live broadcasts to check if I was missing a new trend in New Years Eve live broadcasts but all the others were fairly boring and predictable. Carson Daly was displaying dinner recipes and cooked dishes outdoors in 34 degree weather on NBC before I changed the channel back to CNN (during commercial break of course). I could just imagine CNN lawyers and producers wincing and jaw dropping at every off-color joke and at AC's inability to step in and control the (sometimes annoying) comedy train wreck that is Kathy Griffin. It was like watching a hilarious improv session thrown together at the last minute with a crazy cocker spaniel on the loose. Not just Kathy's wackiness but the entire show seemed to be on some great hallucinogen. CNN reporters were shown in sleet and rain running marathons and even at a drag queen bar which added an especially comedic touch imagining senior citizens suddenly complaining of chest pains while watching this incredible display of anarchy on CNN. Either way it was much more entertaining than I would have ever expected. Even more entertaining than playing "Guess WTF Dick Clark is saying" game right before the ball drops in Times Square on ABC. I can't imagine the core viewership of CNN agreeing with me and the show will mostly likely be scrapped next year. Too bad Kathy and AC, was fun while it lasted.
